Transitions within the family can be tough. Significant life changes can bring conflict, confusion, and uncertainty to a family system, uprooting consistency and stability. Family counseling is a great resource to process difficult circumstances as a unit. Seeking family therapy has proven itself to be helpful during difficult transitions including divorce, a move, grief and loss, adding new family members (birth of a sibling, grandparent moving in, etc.), and a new diagnosis for an individual. Fostering healthy family relationships during difficult transitions can help family members adjust to their new norm as a system. Changes in behaviors can often be seen most prominently within the context of the family. Family therapy can be helpful in navigating these life changes.
Some of the benefits of family counseling are as follows:
In addition to individual therapy, we offer family therapy at Bethel Haven. We would love to help you and your family build healthy relationship dynamics with one another through family therapy.

My daughter and her father need to improve their communication more. I suppose if we go to a family counselor, my conflict with my son will be resolved. I'm glad that you mentioned that it would create support within ourselves as well so I might suggest it to everyone before we find a counselor.

Thanks for helping me understand that a therapist will be able to help us have better communication. As you said, they are going to teach us to effectively communicate which can make the conversation open. With that in mind, I will be hiring one to help our family have better relationships. The issue all started when I started dating another guy after their dad died.

Thank you for putting communication is key in healthy relationships and it can be difficult to attain. Personally, I think that any way to improve communication with family would be worth the cost because they are the most important part of life. I'll have to look into counseling for me and my family.

I like how the article explains that family counseling can help to improve communication between family members and create a space for safe open conversations. My family has been having a lot of difficulties communicating recently and I am wanting to help us become better at it. Maybe we will look into family counseling.

My parents want to enroll our family in counseling together. I like how you said that family counseling helps to improve relationships within the family. I will be sure to recommend that my mom choose a counseling service that can help us strengthen the relationships in our family.
