Being Still

​Sometimes, in a rare moment of clarity, I realize that I haven’t stopped moving for weeks. 

I realize that other than falling into bed at night I haven’t had peace.

Life has been about moving from activity to activity. 

I haven’t been quiet, haven’t put my phone down, haven’t turned off the television. 

My mind is completely filled to the stretching point. 

I haven’t spent a moment where I wasn’t thinking about what I had to do in the next moment. 

I realize that God is calling me to be present. He is calling me to be still. 

I need to lay my worries down at my Father’s feet. 

I need to pay attention to the path that He has me on today, at this moment, right now. 

He has attended to my future and I do not need to worry about tomorrow. 

I need to take the time to meet with my Father, to sit with him and to be truly present in this exact space and time. 

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.” - Psalm 46:10
