Sidney Hosea, M.Ed., APC

Picture
Hi! My name is Sidney Hosea, and I am passionate about helping others. I decided to become a counselor because of my own story of hardships and the personal growth counseling has provided. Life can be hard and unexpected challenges and hardships can arise. The beauty of counseling is having a space for you to be seen and heard. Counseling is such a wonderful investment in yourself to grow, heal, and process. It is truly a privilege to walk alongside clients in their hardships, successes, growth, and healing.

My Experience
I have experience working with college students, young professionals, and adults with a variety of concerns through the Center for Counseling and Personal Evaluation at the University of Georgia. I have experience working with clients with anxiety, depression, grief, suicidality, trauma, life transitions, body image and self-esteem issues, relational conflict and communication issues, and learning disabilities.

My Education
I recently graduated from the University of Georgia with a M.Ed. in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of North Georgia. I am currently pursuing full licensure as a Professional Counselor and receiving supervision for the clients that I see.
What to Expect with Me: My style incorporates many therapeutic techniques, but at the very center is creating a space for you to feel safe, heard, and validated. I believe that in order to grow, clients need to feel safe and heard. In addition, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques and emphasize focusing on what is happening in the “here and now” during the counseling session. Everyone is unique and I approach counseling with that mindset. There is no set approach that works for everyone. I try my best to individualize counseling to what works best for you.

Your story is powerful and meaningful. I would be so honored if you would like to share your story with me.
